Feedback gathered between June 2010 and January 2011, from nearly 2000 users around Europe, has resulted in key improvements to ensure SEVAQ+ best meets the needs of managers, teachers, trainers and learners in both HE and VET. The result is SEVAQ+ v2.0, launched 20th April 2011.

We will run a life validation session at the Annual EDEN conference in Dublin on "Effective Self-Evaluation of Technology Enhanced Learning – A SEVAQ+ Expert Workshop" on Monday June 20th (Session C -16:45-18:15).
This workshop will bring together the Delphi experts and will present the results of the SEVAQ+ Delphi survey dealing with the question how a self-evaluation tool can support organisational learning processes and lead to innovation.
The Delphi expert group on innovative self-evaluation is part of the SEVAQ+ Lifelong Learning Programme project (2009-2011) in which EFQUEL is closely involved as the partner responsible for evaluation and quality assurance.
Whether it’s about improving the efficiency of training or curricular reform in higher education, lifelong learning organisations need a sound, recognised approach to evaluate quality and make strategic decisions based on fact. SEVAQ+ is a combined tool and approach for the self-evaluation of quality in technology-enhanced learning. It is designed to help a range of organisations – professional training centres, in-company training departments or universities – to assess the quality of any teaching and learning supported by ICT, whether totally online or blended.
The original SEVAQ project (Leonardo da Vinci, 2005-2007) merged two widely recognised evaluation and quality approaches – the Kirkpatrick and European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) models - to produce a dynamic, multilingual tool for the generation of learner-centred self-evaluation questionnaires. Having further developed the approach and the tool, we are convinced that SEVAQ+ has great potential to support quality assurance in technology-enhanced learning, pinpointing areas for improvement, tracking evolution and enabling benchmarking.
EFQUEL, the European Foundation for Quality in E-Learning, as a partner in the SEVAQ+ project, is now calling on experts to take part in a large scale Delphi survey on self-evaluation, organisational learning and innovation. The expert group will be consulted in two rounds rounds in order to gain understanding on how tools and approaches like SEVAQ+ can be made more useful for organisations in order to support organizational learning processes and lead to innovation.
We are interested in experts' contribution to the success of the SEVAQ+ project by:
· Learning more about SEVAQ+ at a webinar
· Validating the SEVAQ+ approach, testing the tool and providing feedback;
· Joining the consensus building process with other experts;
· Meeting with the other experts to advise on further improvements.
By participating in the Delphi, the experts will have to chance to contribute to the European-wide expert validation of SEVAQ+ and to join the quality in technology-enhanced learning community which is growing around this field of interest. Priority access to updated, extended versions of the SEVAQ+ tool and the opportunity to participate in future SEVAQ+ events and publications are other added benefits.
For experts not yet familiar with the SEVAQ+ tool, we will offer a webinar on 27.04.2011 just when the first online Delphi round open from 26.04. to 06.05.2011. The second questionnaire will be accessible from 23.05. to 04.06.2010. It will take 20 to 30 minutes to complete the surveys. The results will be presented, reflected on and validated in a live Workshop at the Eden Conference in Dublin (19. – 22.06.2011) and will serve as input to the white paper which formulates policy recommendations based on the experience of the project. It will be presented officially to EU representatives and invited decision makers in Brussels at the end of the project.
The experts will be integrated in a team of quality experts from leading associations, corporations, universities and research centres in the field of self-evaluation. The Delphi expert group unites the four major pillars: policy, research, management and service provider.
